ABSTRACT

The study is focused on the self efficacy and information seeking behavior of students of selected Universities In Ogun State. Survey research design was adopted for the study and with the aid of convenient sampling method, the researcher selected One hundred and forty-eight participant who are Student TAISOLARIN University of Education and Covenant University as the respondent of the study. Well structured questionnaire was issued to the 147 respondent of which total of 141 responses were retrieved  and validated for the study. Data was analyzed in frequencies and tables using  simple percentage Hypothesis test was  conducted using Chi-Square statistical package for social science (SPSS).

 From the findings,  perceived usability and computer self-efficacy of the university students had a significant impact with use of electronic information resources by the postgraduate students. Perceived usability and computer self-efficacy   also  had   a   joint   influence   on   electronic  information   resources   in   the   selected universities. Therefore, for academic excellence as postgraduate students, this study had shown that the use of Electronic Resources is inevitable. Hence, there is need for them to get more acquainted with the use of Electronic Resources, which in turn will positively influence their perceived usability and encourage their interactions with computer and use of EIRs frequently for their numerous academic activities. The study therefore recommends that Library and information professionals must engage in constant advocacy and sensitization outreaches to promoting information literacy. It is about influencing the public to a realization that lifelong learning is crucial to leveraging with global change and innovation. There is a need to develop new skills and strategies to coping in an information age with its multifaceted learning opportunities and challenges.
